"ANNE TO BE AT VAMPIRE BALL OCTOBER 30TH, 2004

HELLO GUYS! I'm going to be at the Les Temps des Vampires Ball on this coming Saturday for a brief visit around 9:15 p.m. Hope to see those of you who are attending. SuzieQ, my beloved friend and assistant is working hard to revive the legendary parties we all remember, and this will be a pleasure -- even though I'm usually in a Victorian style flannel gown by this time. 

As you know, (for those of you who boogie), the ball is at Rosie's Jazz Hall on Tchoupitoulas and Valence. That's near the river, folks. It seems we have a habit of gathering in that part of town. Lestat must mightily approve.

I'll be in and out, but I'm looking forward to it very much. Nothing takes the place of seeing my readers and since there is no tour this year, this is a gift to me.

For a local charity, I've dug into my closet for some salient black garments, creating a somewhat goth/evening ensemble, including a New York designer hat, that will be raffled off. Shoes are brand new, hat was worn once to riotuous laughter though it's gorgeous (I couldn't pull it off), skirt probably worn on tour, and one of my favorite glittering scarves is also included. There's a little black hand bag and a tiny pair of fingerless gloves. That must have some profound psychological significance. But who am I to analyze? If you buy a ticket, two thirds will go to the charity. I'd tell their name but we haven't told them yet. But it's quite legit! They help AIDS patients and their families.
